About the Author
Otuekong Isang has devoted more than 15 years to working with children, teenagers, households, schools and the institutions that serve them. He founded Human Progeny, a child and family development organization with a vision to preserve, promote and protect family values at all levels of influence. He also serves as the Programs Director of Globe Takers Foundation for Child Development, bringing his wealth of child development expertise and experience to designing sustainable interventions for African children in underserved communities, leading to innovative collaborations with community-minded organizations.

His background in Management has influenced the efforts of the public and private sectors in spearheading novel development programs for these demographics. He has worked with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), under the European Union-funded NGAV-16 Response to Drugs and Related Organized Crime Project for many years. His remarkable skills in adolescent development have been brought to the fore, having designed measurable youth-centric projects for the House Committee on Youth Development of the Nigerian National Assembly. He also consults for TeenzNet, a community of teenagers with shared values on upskilling their ICT competencies.

Otuekong is a professional affiliate of Division 7 – Child Development of the American Psychological Association, a member Institute of Child Psychology, Canada, the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association and the Nigerian Institute of Management. He believes little community efforts and the involvement of young people in their development journeys can become monumental in changing the trajectory of child and adolescent development practice around the world, with special considerations for Africa.
