About the Author
In loving memory of Shally—Omoshalewa Oluwadamilola Ashimi Alonge—who grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. Her passion for writing ignited at the age of 9. Shally authored short stories for publications such as Premium Times, Naija Stories, Castles Magazine, Daily Post, and The Punch. She served as a freelance writer and editor for The Ready Writers Consult for two years, crafting company profiles and books for clients.
Shally, the editor of her university department magazine, Stream, where she approved reviews for publication, graduated magna cum laude from Covenant University with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in 2018. In 2022, she earned an MBA from the prestigious IE Business School.
Beyond her academic achievements, Shally worked as a Brand Storyteller and Digital Marketer in prominent Nigerian companies, including Union Bank, Coke, Diageo, and Friesland Campina. At the time of her passing in May 2023, she was leading Brands and Partnerships at Accelerex.
Shally’s short write-up, “What’s Her Story,” was shortlisted for Chimamanda Adichie’s Farafina’s Workshop in 2013. “3L’s” stands as her first compilation of stories and poetry, titled “Love, Loss, and Light (3Ls),” depicting the intricate journey from childhood to adulthood and the universal emotions encountered in the process.
