Brief Profile of the Author
Ayomide Fasedu is a Nigerian performance poet. She was born and raised in Lagos and has performed on many stages. She was a finalist at The Lagos International Poetry Festival, Winner of and winner of Felicity 2.0 in 2021. She also emerged as the best performer at Kulture Fest back in 2018 and she won Wordaholics poetry slam twice in a row. Her writing is centred around women. She draws her inspiration from love and chaos; everything between fairytales and harsh realities. She engages with a variety of themes comprising love, heartbreak, trauma, loss, healing, femininity, and Nigerianism. When she is not writing or performing poetry, she is making frozen yoghurt in her kitchen or creating amazing music. She was featured on the most recent Black Magic album, ‘The invitation’. The Ashes Have Their Own Stories (shortened as TATHOS for ease) is her first poetry collection.
