About the Author

Adamu Bello was the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2001 to 2007 also overseeing the Ministry of Water Resources when both were merged in 2007, serving in the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR. His earlier career was as a banker who successfully attained the position of Chief Executive Officer and subsequently became Chairman of the Board of Directors.

He attended Ahmadu Bello University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Harvard University, for his undergraduate, graduate, and Advanced Management studies, respectively. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and was awarded honorary doctorates by two universities. He further became the first serving member of the Federal Cabinet to be conferred with the national honour of CFR (Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic).
