Mathias Okoi-Uyouyo was educated at Mary Knoll College, Okuku – Ogoja, and the University of Calabar. He is the author of several books amongst them: Yakurr Systems of Kinship, Family and Marriage, M. D. Yusufu: Beyond the Cop, Issues in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights (ed.), and Stepping Forward with Uti J. D. Agba (with Goddy Jedy Agba). He combines his writing career with a job in the public service, and is presently a Deputy Director with the Police Service Commission.

Abdul M. Sulaiman was educated at Ahmadu Bello University, Police Academy, Nigeria Defence Academy, University of Hong Kong and the University of Abuja. He is a Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Nigeria Police Force. He has held offices as: Police Public Relations Officer, Sokoto State; Head of Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Federal Capital Territory Police Command; Head of Intelligence and Special Operations, as well as Counter Terrorism and General Investigation, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission; Director of Operations, Special Presidential Investigation Panel, and Force Insurance Officer. His collaboration with Mathias Okoi-Uyouyo, Critical Thinking and Policing is his first book.
